Save the World

I'm wondering about our world's conditon today. Last year, at this time, it was so hot in summer and we were ready for Songkran festival--the festival of splashing water in the coming of Thai new year. However, this year, it is still cool and even cold for the tropical people like us. It's the end of March and it's supposed to be hot now. Some people died because they cannot adjust to the quick change of the weather. While people in the north, the center, and the northeastern of Thailand are suffering from the cold weather, people in the south are suffering from flood. Yes, flood in summer! Last two weeks, there was a big earthquake and tsunami in Japan. a week later, there was an earthquake in Burma which could be sensed by many of us, especially in the north of Thailand and in the tall buildings as well.

What happened to Thailand? What happened to our world? Many scientists suggested that those uncommon natural disasters were caused by global warming which was resulted from human actions. Many campaigns on stopping global warming have been launched; we are now alert and trying to help the world by reduce, reuse, recycle, etc.... but is it too late? It is too late to stop the disasters from occurring, Though what we are trying to do to save the world today may be able to lengthen the world's life for a few years, better late than never since if we don't do anything, soon, there won't be the place left for us and our new generations to live.

  1. I absolutely agree with her. There are lots of curious questions are waiting for the right answers. Will the world be ending in 2012? Where will we live? Will the human race end in very soon future? Lots of disasters tend to warn and foreshadow on us, how to change these kind of crisis to be in a good condition. We must be hurry to fix those troubles now. I always turn the light off when there’s nobody in the room because I don’t want to pay more bill and save such energy as well. I use a non-CFC and energy save for fridge. Besides, my washing machine often uses a friendly detergence. I hardly use aplastic bag as well when I’ve to go shopping.

  2. Yes, the world is changing every second, but we haven’t noticed. Everything in the universe is changing all the time, but we haven’t realized. We see the changing only when there are disasters. I do not know if it is too late or not. However, I agree that we should save the world. I think we should not buy unnecessary things. One item brings a lot of pollution during its manufacturing process, transportation, and garbage disposal. Think before doing (buying /consuming) maybe the best solution because it saves money, saves energy and saves the world!
