The exam can be a useful technique for students’ employment later on.
It’s the students’ responsibility first to study deeply all the materials on the syllabus, do all the homework, attend all the classes, look all past papers, know the day, time and place for the exam. The students tend to cover all these things as basic before the exam. Some of them who work hard, they probably excel in the examination. It means that it’s quite fair for evaluating their levels of competences.
The exam can judge the students’ competences in case of their scholarships’ determination and employment. It’s possible that the exam - a representation of real life experience, starting from working hard in school and begin seeking for employment. The students who are good at oral examination, may convince that they are able to work in good organization. The ability to gain employment will depend on how well they performed.
Students who were successful in their exams, they may have high levels of confidence in their ability and this possibly reflects in their performance as well.
I experience once how to gain my confidences when I have to present something toward any other colleagues in my work place. The participation or the oral exam in classroom is an obvious practical technique, helping me how to express my own idea out of the public. It can help us how to face a problem in real life in somehow.
In my opinion, every language skills in class help us to be successful in our job. When students are in class or study on their own, it is the best opportunity for them to practice language skills because they have teachers to guide them. So, they can improve their performance and self-confidence. The exam and result help student to know if they need a lot of improve or not. In some work field the result is very important, so the student should do their best in class. However, every skill can be developed with more practice and experience. It is great if students are excellent but sometimes employers also look for a person who has potential to develop himself rather than a person who is already perfect.

I agree with both of you. Without exam, the learning wouldn;t be effective since the students may ignore, or may not try to remember or understandwhat they have learned since they can find the content on their textbooks.
ReplyDeleteI think exam is useful. It could tell whether the students are competent in what they have learned. Exam also helps students be more active in class and work harder in order to pass it. Doing so they will be able to understand and remember the content they've studied.
I do agree with everyone. it is an important process after studying the whole thing to see the understanding in what the students have learn through the examination.
